Executive Leadership
Luca Santoro, PhD
General Manager
Luca Santoro co-founded Therness as a Politecnico di Torino spin-off and today leads the company's vision, strategy and go-to-market efforts. He holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and Active Thermography. Luca Santoro is ISO 9712 Level 3 certified in thermographic testing (and examiner for Levels 1–3) and a CSWIP 3.1 welding inspector, bringing deep expertise in both academic research and industrial deployment of NDT systems. He oversees all R&D collaborations, intellectual‐property matters and key industrial partnerships.
Pietro Paolo De Crescenzo
Operations Director
As Operations Director, Pietro Paolo builds the operational backbone that turns Therness technology into reliable, scalable industrial solutions. He holds an M.Sc. in Management Engineering (specializing in innovation) and an MBA. With extensive experience advising and mentoring over 15 deep-tech startups, he drives financial planning, market analysis, go-to-market strategy, fundraising and client onboarding, ensuring our growth is both rapid and sustainable.
Alberto Boffa Bes
Sales Manager
Alberto leads commercial development at Therness, managing the sales pipeline, nurturing customer relationships, and coordinating proposals and live demos alongside the technical team. He brings long experience in international sales management, operating across diverse markets.

Head of Data Science & Software Engineering
Reza architects and implements the data-driven core of Therness's platform. A seasoned Data Scientist and Software Developer, he leads the design of machine-learning pipelines, deployment of real-time defect-detection models, and development of our user-facing applications. His work transforms raw thermographic data into actionable insights and intuitive dashboards that integrate seamlessly on the factory floor.
Mohammadmahdi Gheisari
Data Science Engineer
Mohammadmahdi supports our AI efforts by developing and fine-tuning advanced statistical and deep-learning models. As a data scientist, he brings a strong background in applied statistics and one-shot computer vision.
