Introduction

Therness considers the protection of its customers’ and potential customers’ personal data to be of fundamental importance. We ensure that the processing of personal data, whether automated or manual, complies with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and other applicable data protection laws.

This Privacy Policy describes how therness.com manages the processing of users’ and visitors’ personal data.

Data processing methods

Personal data are processed using electronic procedures and tools for the strictly necessary period. Data are processed only as needed to achieve the purpose and retained for the minimum period required by applicable law.

Types of data and purposes

Browsing data: Technical data such as IP addresses, browser type, operating system, referrers, pages visited, access times, and related parameters may be processed in aggregate for security and analytics.

Data provided voluntarily: Information provided via forms (e.g., name, email, phone, company, message) is used to respond to inquiries and provide requested information or services.

Downloads from links in our emails: some emails we send contain a personal download link. When you open it, we record the download: time, file, campaign, a pseudonymous recipient identifier from our mailing system, a shortened IP address and the browser type. We do this on the basis of our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in knowing whether the documents we send are actually downloaded and in telling downloads made by people apart from automatic checks run by mail-security software. These records are kept in access-protected server logs for 12 months and then deleted; downloads made by people are also noted in our contact register. Our web analytics receive only the file name and the campaign tags of the link, never the recipient identifier. You can object at any time by writing to info@therness.com.

Solution Finder: when you use the Solution Finder on our website, your answers are processed in your browser to show a product recommendation. If you ask to receive the full result, we use your name, email address, company, your answers and the recommended product to send you that result with the related documents and to follow up your request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, steps taken at your request), and we note them in our contact register. Our web analytics receive only the step reached and the coded answers, never your name or email address. We keep these data for 24 months after our last exchange with you, then delete them. You can ask us to delete them earlier at any time by writing to info@therness.com.

Access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection as per Articles 15–21 of the GDPR.

Google Analytics (anonymized IP)

We use Google Analytics with IP anonymization. IP addresses are shortened within the EU/EEA. In exceptional cases, the full IP may be sent to the US and shortened there.
